The Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) terrorist Junta has been employing famine and armed struggle sticking itself to the old strategy nostalgia revealing its monstrous feature, so said a retired politician.

Having a stay with the Ethiopia press agency (EPA),Dima Negewo (PhD) stated that TPLF has been using famine as an effective weapon to get foreign aids as it did during the war against the Derg.

However, the terrorist Junta diverted the aid pumped to humanitarian assistance to purchase of artillery setting the restoration task and humanitarian support aside. In fact, during the time of Derg famine for a long time broke out due to climate change and affected the whole Ethiopia severely particularly the Tigray region. Hence, most stricken areas enormously attracted world’s attention and became wonderful opportunities for the rebels group.

“Today there is no natural famine in Tigray, rather a man-made one for which all actors including TPLF are responsible. Using armed struggle is an outdated tactic in the 21est century as TPLF itself was ousted by people’s protest. I don’t know why the group came up with failed tactics,” Dr. Dima opined.

He said the people of Tigray themselves know that TPLF did not pay attention to the region’s socio-economic problems when it was in power. Even the group used to attack aid workers and snatched aids. Its great ambition is simply to maintain its position and quench its few official interests. Hence, the people of Tigray need to understand the reality and decide their destiny. Even for TPLF, using famine as a weapon is not as effective as it used to be.

Eventually, he called on the people of Tigray to look at things responsibly and calmly and be part of government’s effort to come up with a difference.
